Rest, Ye Fallen Angel
(For Jessie White)
A whisper of a falling angel
Soft and light and free
Pity no one heard it.
Never fallen before
Be it pain
Be it Hate
Or be it something more.
Perhaps the past pushed passionate moments aside.
Maybe memories made the angel mysteriously meek.
Was it worth what he thought it would?
Did he die denying his death?
Or was it a risen demon which made this angel fall?
A west wind whispers of the woe`d angel,
Now spread upon this sin-filled ground,
As the shadow shies it's self in shame
And a rabid roar resurrects the rain.
Lost,
Gone,
Forever, no more
Like never before.
It was my fault as much as it is yours.
We were too busy
We were too hungry
We were too relaxed
We were too full
But what we really were was deaf.
For if we listen harder,
We would have heard,
A whisper of a falling angel,
Who we hear,
No more.
